Data Demand & Product Owner – Financial Services – PE Backed

Location: Hybrid – 2-3 days per week in office (UK)

SystemsAccountants are working with a PE-backed Financial Services client to recruit a Data Demand & Product Owner. This is a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the organisation’s growing data strategy. Reporting directly to the CFO and working closely with the Data Strategy Committee (including senior executives), you’ll bridge the gap between business needs and technical delivery – ensuring data products bring measurable value, support business goals, and drive process improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for data products in alignment with business objectives
  • Drive the full lifecycle of data product development, from ideation to deployment and ongoing optimisation
  • Gather and prioritise requirements from stakeholders across the business
  • Maintain the product catalogue and backlog, ensuring high-priority features are delivered first
  • Track KPIs to measure product success and inform enhancements
  • Support governance to ensure data quality, security, and compliance
  • Communicate product value, progress, and insights to stakeholders at all levels
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in data management, data strategy, or business analysis
  • Background in financial services or regulated industries (preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a commercial mindset
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including engineers, analysts, and business users
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences
  • Familiarity with data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus
