Job Title: Shift Manager – HV Electrical

Job Purpose:
To control and implement deliverables against all allocated Customer Specific Service Level and KPI Agreements. To contribute to the development and successful operation of the Managed Services function, working with colleagues to develop and implement departmental strategy, objectives, and improvement processes.
The operational requirements for customer sites include being part of a team covering 24/7 operations on a shift rota basis and being available to cover shifts where possible.
The Shift Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the shift, carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance and Reactive works on Building Services Systems within a contracted site. It is his/her responsibility to liaise closely with the customer and promote a positive image of the company at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that Planned Preventative Maintenance & Reactive maintenance tasks are carried out for all site assets through the PPM system.
- Maintain accurate records related to Health & Safety, Building Compliance, and Quality Assurance.
- This role requires an HV qualification and the individual must obtain Authorised Person status to meet contract requirements.
- Ensure sub-contractors perform to contract standards, administer work approvals, and ensure safe operations during repairs or services.
- Operate a Permit to Work System in accordance with company and client requirements.
- Ensure plant faults and defects are promptly addressed to maintain operational order.
- Escalate incidents or concerns to the Engineering Manager as per site procedures.
- Carry out routine quality checks, record keeping, and housekeeping.
- Ensure availability of suitable spares for maintenance.
- Monitor building environmental conditions using BMS / Ignition System to maintain internal conditions.
- Complete comprehensive maintenance records and ensure method statements and risk assessments are prepared and followed for all tasks.
- Supervise and monitor subcontractor work, ensuring adherence to method statements and risk assessments.
- Arrange and provide cover for holidays and sickness at short notice, being flexible with working patterns.
- Remain on site until full shift coverage is present, and report any absences or lateness.
- Request and manage annual leave with appropriate coverage.
- Develop and maintain good client relationships.
- Complete weekly timesheets and submit overtime requests as required.
- Participate in training and assessments, ensuring a safe and professional working environment.
- Represent CBRE professionally to clients and visitors.
- Undertake other tasks as requested by local management.
- Ensure tasks are completed properly, utilizing shift engineers effectively.
- Conduct annual performance reviews of shift engineers.
- Ensure the team is trained and skilled, with appropriate training plans.
- Ensure work tasks are undertaken with proper H&S awareness and compliance.
- Maintain awareness and compliance with contractual KPIs/SLA’s.
- Keep the Computer Based Maintenance system up to date, closing out tickets accurately.
- Record incidents within SLA requirements.
- Record shift issues and ensure handover updates are completed prior to leaving site.
Accountabilities:
- Directly accountable to the Engineering/Technical Manager, with dotted-line reporting to site management.
- Direct reports include staff under the post holder.
- No direct budget responsibility, but financial awareness is required.
