CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Senior Shift Technician to join the team located in Slough.
The successful candidate will be responsible for controlling and supervising work tasks for planned and reactive maintenance, reporting directly to the Shift Manager. They will liaise with Engineering management and client personnel to ensure all maintenance work complies with site policies, procedures, and health and safety legislation.
The candidate will operate as an Authorised Person, ensuring all safety paperwork is completed to a high standard, aligned with company policies and safe systems of work.
While on site, the Senior Shift Technician will report to the Shift Manager and assist in organising work efforts, ensuring tasks are completed safely, to a high standard, and within time constraints.
Role Summary:
- Ensure routine maintenance of all building plant, equipment, and systems to meet and exceed expectations and SLAs.
- Respond to BMS alarms and perform emergency repairs.
- Manage controls within the Permit to Work system.
- Create and utilise switching schedules, SOPs, and EOPs per company policies and SSOW.
- Maintain evaporative cooling and domestic water systems in compliance with L8 standards.
- Ensure availability of suitable spares for maintenance tasks.
- Keep comprehensive maintenance records using REALM task sheets.
- Prepare Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all in-house tasks.
- Supervise subcontractors to ensure contractual and site compliance.
- Develop positive relationships with CBRE and client staff.
- Maintain a safe and healthy working environment, adhering to all policies and procedures.
- Present a professional image and deliver excellent customer service.
- Maintain professional and technical skills through ongoing development.
- Ensure work packs include all necessary documentation, including subcontractor RAMS.
- Keep training and personal development up to date.
- Promote a strong team culture.
- Manage incidents and faults on site.
- Fulfill HVAP responsibilities as applicable.
- Review and update statutory and subcontractor log books.
- File and upload vendor reports to the CMMS, noting corrective actions.
Experience / Skillset Required:
- Manual Handling Training (advantageous)
- HV Authorization
- Current Wiring Regulations certificate
- Level 3 NVQ in relevant discipline
- Emergency First Aid at Work qualification
- Experience in incident/fault management in a business-critical environment
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role
- Strong understanding of health and safety obligations
- Good verbal communication skills
- Numerate and literate
- Commitment to safe working practices
- Self-motivated with high integrity
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Organised, with good prioritisation skills
- Courteous and presentable, with client-facing exposure
- Ability to ascend/descend vertical access equipment
- Flexible regarding working hours
- PASMA & IPAF preferred
- Knowledge of Fire, PMS, BMS systems
