  3. Provide after-hours on-call management support and participate in emergent, large scale event response when needed.
  4. Participate in re-occurring data center security audits and reviews.
  5. Execute established compliance processes with AWS policies, standards, guidelines and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  6. Provide input on, and may develop security methodologies, policies and procedures.
  7. Write reports and communicate with management on the status of physical security operations.

We encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply as we focus on talented people who are motivated to learn and be successful in our growing industry. The successful applicant will receive comprehensive onboard training as well as continuous support from a local and regional security team. You will also have opportunities to collaborate and engage with various teams across the globe.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

Key job responsibilities:

  1. Ability to walk a facility and observe security gaps in physical barriers, security officer procedure, policies, surveillance equipment, and alarm points.
  2. Drive campaigns to reduce nuisance alarms.
  3. Experience with workflow ticketing and extraction of performance metrics.
  4. Investigate accidents, thefts, disturbances, discrepancies.
  5. Oversee physical security sub contractors that provide guards, electronic security systems, door construction, door repair, fencing, and access controls.
  6. Distill overarching security strategy into daily tactics to reach management goals.
  7. Oversee security construction projects.
  8. Teach others the proper security processes and methods.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  3. Proficient English verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Driver license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Member of a security professional body.
  2. Security specific qualifications and/or proof of continued personal development.
