Job Description:

Job Purpose:

To support/deliver, technically and operationally, individual or multiple projects related to new works within allocated budgets and defined programmes.

Duties:

  • Have good electrical/mechanical knowledge and experience to deliver resilient power projects.
  • Willingness to undertake training on Control Systems.
  • Ensure work is completed to a high standard and in line with EMCOR QA.
  • Appoint and manage specialist contractors as required.
  • Prepare specifications briefs in consultation with the technical and design team/project manager.
  • Ensure all RAMS are suitable and sufficient for sub-contractors and direct resources.
  • Prepare programs in conjunction with the project manager and supply chain. Monitor throughout project delivery.
  • Attend regular client and pre-start meetings as required.
  • Attend factory acceptance testing, ensuring equipment is aligned to specifications and performance criteria. Oversee completion of snags and defects resulting from FAT, protecting the interests of EUK and stakeholders.
  • Ensure all works are managed in accordance with EMCOR standard operating procedures and Health and Safety regulations.
  • Must be willing to undertake company standard internal training workshops.
  • Adhere to EMCOR procurement policies.
  • Review technical submissions and sub-contractor proposals.
  • Implement and maintain EMCOR quality control systems and procedures.
  • Maintain appropriate records for audits.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with clients, colleagues, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Manage all Health and Safety matters (CDM) per EMCOR procedures and legislation.
  • Produce and evaluate technical project documentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Control of sub-contractors and their workmanship standards.
  • Project commercial awareness.
  • Responsibility for efficient use of internal resources.

Person Specification:

  • Extensive experience in a technical role on electrical systems.
  • Experience in standby power systems, including UPS, Generators, and controls.
  • Good understanding of IT systems and Control Systems.
  • Proven track record in delivering standby power systems successfully.
  • Operational and technical experience in mission-critical environments.
  • Qualifications or apprenticeship in a relevant craft or engineering discipline.
  • Current BS7671 wiring regulations qualification.
  • Experience in LV panel configurations & safe switching procedures.
  • Skills in stakeholder and supplier management.
  • Willingness to undertake training in standby power control systems.
  • Effective planning, organization, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with good workload management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic knowledge of Microsoft Project.
  • Health and Safety (CDM) experience for project management.
  • Preferably hold current ECS gold card, SMSTS or IOSH certification.
