Job Overview:
The Data Centre Operations H&S Manager will cooperate with the Risk & Compliance department to develop and implement strategic Health and Safety systems within a mission-critical environment, complementing existing company systems and procedures. The role involves implementing the highest industry standards across all sites, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, and maintaining ISO accreditations. The manager will work closely with staff and stakeholders to protect health, safety, and welfare by identifying and controlling workplace risks.
Key tasks:
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations, including ISO requirements. Prepare change implementation plans, documentation, manuals, process documents, and communication plans for changes.
- Implement, monitor, and advise on strategic Health & Safety Management systems within Operations and the Company.
- Promote a positive Health & Safety culture, raising awareness and knowledge across teams and third parties.
- Prepare documentation for senior management and committees.
- Conduct Health and Safety audits, make recommendations, and develop improvement strategies in line with legislation and ISO standards.
- Report audit findings, recommendations, and actions. Maintain accident statistics, analyze trends, and track remedial actions.
- Perform site inspections and engage with stakeholders to ensure safe working practices.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses, produce reports, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Identify training needs and organize or deliver Health & Safety training sessions.
- Manage the Health & Safety budget effectively.
- Hold NEBOSH Qualification (National General Certificate).
- Maintain knowledge of current health, safety legislation, and best practices.
- Bring relevant experience, including innovative solutions to enhance service performance.
- Extensive experience in H&S data analysis and reporting.
- Knowledge of ISO accreditation processes and experience in maintaining certifications.
- Manage changing workloads and conflicting priorities.
- Communicate effectively with senior management and board members.
- Lead and deliver projects within deadlines, meeting targets and performance indicators.
