Our client is a global data centre services organisation, expanding their presence, and requires multiple shift engineers at a newly built data centre in Slough. Working on a continental shift pattern (12-hour days and nights), the role seeks experienced multi-skilled building services or data centre engineers responsible for routine and reactive maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems in a highly critical environment. These co-location sites house servers for major organizations, making 100% uptime essential.

Salary is up to £56,000 basic, with an annual bonus based on total earnings including overtime. Opportunities for overtime and training make this a compelling career move.

Duties:

  • Perform scheduled Critical Facility PPMs and reactive works, ensuring SLA compliance.
  • Handle daily emergency callouts.
  • Maintain logbooks and RAMS.
  • Apply risk-focused maintenance and operate plant and systems in data centres/critical environments.
  • Ensure critical services meet client requirements.
  • Provide emergency response and escalate issues as needed.
  • Support technical audits and maintain accurate records.
  • Supervise contractors when required.
  • Conduct emergency lighting testing.
  • Perform electrical work including lighting, wiring, testing, alarm systems, BMS, and heat exchangers.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of AHU, FCU, UPS, Generators, LV systems, with fault-finding skills.

Requirements:

  • Trade trained with at least 3 years’ experience in building services.
  • City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical qualification.
