Job summary

A leading organisation is seeking a Data Centre Infrastructure Engineer to support their critical operations in North Yorkshire. This long-term contract role involves managing Data Centre buildouts, network migrations, and working with structured cabling. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in Data Centre environments and industry standards. The position offers a competitive pay rate of around £350 per day and follows a shift pattern of 4 on/4 off. A high prospect of becoming a full-time staff member is anticipated.

Responsibilities

  • Support key technical Data Centre initiatives.
  • Manage Data Centre Infrastructure Buildouts.
  • Conduct network migrations.
  • Install hardware & trunking.
  • Produce supporting technical documentation.
  • Provide Power Distribution & HVAC support.
  • Support Data Centre design projects.

Skills

Demonstrable track record in Data Centre / Critical Systems environments
Strong knowledge of structured cabling (fibre & copper)
Understanding of critical IT hardware, network, storage and DC security
Experience using design software (AutoCAD, Visio, Google Lucid)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of Data Centre industry standards (e.g. BISCI)
Data Centre certifications (e.g. DCMP, CCNP - Data Centre)

CPS Group UK are delighted to be working with a leading organisation to appoint a seasoned Data Centre Infrastructure Engineer to join our clients critical Data Centre operations on an initial contract basis, with a high prospect of converting to a full-time staff member. The role is shift-based on site in North Yorkshire.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Demonstrable track record in Data Centre / Critical Systems environments, supporting technical projects
  • Strong knowledge of structured cabling (fibre & copper) and telco infrastructure
  • Understanding of critical IT hardware, network, storage and DC security environments
  • Experience using design software (AutoCAD, Visio, Google Lucid)
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a dedicated on-site team
  • Knowledge of Data Centre industry standards (e.g. BISCI)
  • Any associated Data Centre certifications (e.g. DCMP, CCNP - Data Centre)
