Job summary

TRIA in Sunderland is seeking a Data Centre Engineer / Platform Engineer to join a hands-on cloud and data centre migration initiative. You will provide technical support across Azure migrations, landing zone and infrastructure configuration, and production cutover activities.

The role is initially a 6-month contract inside IR35, with a daily rate on DOE and potential extension.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with cloud migrations and data centre modernization.
• Experience in infrastructure automation and cloud tooling.

Responsibilities

• Support migration of datacentre-hosted workloads into Azure.
• Assist with landing zone networking and infrastructure configuration.
• Assist with application and server migration activities.
• Review high‑priority vulnerabilities and remediation across server and infra.

Rate: DOE

The Data Centre Engineer / Platform Engineer will join a dynamic team at a time of major modernisation and transformation, with responsibility for providing hands‑on technical support to drive the cloud and data centre migration activities.

This will include:

• Supporting migration of datacentre-hosted workloads into Azure, assisting with planning, build, testing and production cutover activities
• Support landing zone, networking and infrastructure configuration
• Assist with application and server migration activities
• Support supplier engagement and technical validation activities
• Review and remediation of high‑priority vulnerabilities identified through pen testing activity
• Implement remediation activities across server and infrastructure platforms
• Validate controls through testing and evidence collection

The successful Data Centre Engineer / Platform Engineer will have the following skills:

• Infrastructure-as-Code: Terraform, ARM, PowerShell automation
• Backup and restore Solutions e.g. Veeam, CommVault

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will initially join for a period of 6 months to actively participate in the cloud and data centre migration activity, and there is the possibility of extension.
