Job description
Overview

Data Centre Analyst (Contract) - Wokingham. Location: Wokingham (Hybrid - 3 days onsite per week). Contract Duration: 6 months. Rate: £380 - £400/day (Inside IR35).

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure safe and reliable operation of the data centre estate.
  • Conduct regular IT asset audits to maintain compliance and data accuracy.
  • Maintain DCIM tools (e.g., Nlyte) to monitor capacity limits.
  • Manage changes and risks through formal Change Control Processes.
  • Raise and resolve change or incident tickets within SLAs.
  • Provide incident management support and troubleshoot issues.
  • Represent the data centre in workshops, CABs, and multidisciplinary events.
  • Validate technical designs for safe housing and supportability of systems.
  • Deliver data centre inductions and maintain access records.
  • Prepare for and complete internal and external audits.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Geoinformatics, or related field.
  • 10+ years in IT infrastructure/solution architecture, with at least 5 years in GIS platforms.
  • Experience with Azure cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices.
  • Strong understanding of geospatial technologies (e.g., ESRI, QGIS, FME, GeoServer).
  • Experience with legacy GIS systems (Intergraph, Smallworld) and data migration.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML applications in geospatial data quality and analytics.
  • Agile delivery experience with cross-functional team leadership.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with DCIM tools such as Nlyte.
  • Previous involvement in audits and compliance activities.
  • Knowledge of incident/change management within ITIL frameworks
