Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical Technical Director for our London Data Centres team.

You will lead the electrical engineering function, shaping design strategies, and ensuring reliable, energy-efficient data centre operations across the UK/EMEA. You will drive technical excellence, mentor engineers, manage budgets, and build strong client relationships in a fast-paced critical facilities environment.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer through CIBSE/IET or working toward this qualification.
• Strong expertise in electrical design, power distribution, generation, and critical backup systems for data centres.
• Proven ability to develop innovative solutions to complex electrical challenges.
• Proven leadership and ability to mentor and manage a team of engineers and technicians.
• Strategic thinking to anticipate industry trends and align initiatives with business goals.
• Proven project management skills to manage timelines, budgets, and quality.
• Excellent communication to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong adaptability to evolving technologies and client needs.
• Customer-focused approach to meet client requirements and drive value.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Electrical team within the DC sector, setting vision and direction.
• Develop client relationships and promote the UK/EMEA brand.
• Support budget planning and monitor monthly/annual performance of the team.
• Collaborate with directors to implement strategic initiatives across the team and business.
• Share knowledge and expertise with global colleagues in the firm.
• Drive profitable and sustainable bid work and maintain accurate forecasting.
• Oversee team performance, pipeline, finance, and operations.
• Engage with clients, developers, contractors and architects to secure projects.
