Job summary

PRS Recruitment Services is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a mission-critical data centre in Docklands, London. You will maintain and operate critical electrical infrastructure, ensuring reliability and safety.

The role focuses on HV/LV systems, UPS, generators, switchgear, and BMS, with HVAP in-date. It offers a 55k base salary plus 5k HVAP allowance and a 60k total package, with Monday to Friday 8-5.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 electrical qualification or equivalent.
• City & Guilds 2360 / 2330 / 2391 or recognised equivalent.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• HVAP - must be in date or recently lapsed.
• Proven experience in electrical maintenance within a commercial, critical or data centre environment.
• Strong knowledge of HV/LV systems, power distribution, UPS and generators.
• Experience with critical electrical infrastructure and electrical fault finding.
• Good understanding of building services and health & safety procedures.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
• Proactive, professional and flexible approach to maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
• Fault finding and troubleshooting across electrical systems and critical infrastructure.
• Maintaining and testing HV and LV electrical systems and power distribution equipment.
• Working with UPS systems, generators, switchgear and associated critical power infrastructure.
• Carrying out electrical inspections, testing and routine maintenance.
• Supporting the operation and maintenance of BMS and building services systems.
• Responding to electrical faults and assisting with emergency situations.
• Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with site procedures, RAMS and health & safety requirements.
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records, logbooks and compliance documentation.
• Working closely with the wider engineering and facilities teams to ensure maximum site resilience.
• Supporting contractor management and specialist engineering works when required.
• Identifying potential issues before they impact critical operations and escalating faults appropriately.
