Data Centre Controls and Commissioning Engineers

Are you a recently qualified electrical or mechanical engineer or have experience in data centres and other mission-critical infrastructure?

Are you looking to develop your skills in either data centre building controls or commissioning of live data centres?

Do you want to work at the forefront of data centre design and AI opportunities?

If yes, BladeRoom has an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to embark on a career path that could see them as a controls development, commissioning, or planned preventative maintenance engineer.

At BladeRoom Group, we believe in rewarding our team with excellent benefits. As a growing and dynamic company, we provide exciting career development opportunities and a supportive team culture. These are just a few of the many perks of working with us, making BladeRoom a fantastic place to build your career.

We are offering several different career paths in BMS development, commissioning, and planned preventative maintenance. We are one team and the nature of our business will always require a degree of flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of our clients and deliver world-class facilities. Both roles are predominantly based at a construction site or a live BladeRoom facility owned by our clients.

If you have a particular interest, the existing skills, and/or relatable experience that would suit one or both career development options below, we want to hear from you.

You would join a company with a phenomenal track record of developing, promoting, and retaining talent.

  1. Support the development of the data centre controls solutions, including software programming for the leading data centre product on the market.
  2. Support the on-site deployment of these systems and contribute to the successful deployment and type testing of our programs.
  3. Assist with new controls developments, as our company continues to expand into new markets and continues to offer innovative and efficient solutions to meet the needs of our customers.
  4. Complete server builds and centralised graphics at a physical and virtual layer.
  5. Assist commissioning engineers with type testing of BMS systems and general commissioning tasks associated with the facility.
  6. Engage with clients and stakeholders to perform maintenance tasks in a mission-critical environment.
  7. Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues at live sites, including controls setup and network configurations.
  8. Diagnose and troubleshoot software and hardware solutions, primarily with Trend and Tridium BMS Systems and network configurations at live sites.
  9. Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams.
  10. Prepare accurate and timely reports.
  11. Take a lead in the testing of our BladeRoom.
  12. Ensure that our facilities are operating in accordance with design parameters and to the highest standard, ready to hand over a state-of-the-art facility to our client.
  13. Organise and coordinate the daily commissioning activities (BRG and subcontractor specialists), in collaboration with our client’s specialists and colleagues from the construction team to ensure live projects remain on programme, with milestones met.
  14. Complete all commissioning QA/testing documentation and manage the correct completion and submission of subcontractor QA and testing documentation.
  15. Collation of completed test sheets and asset lists and assist with the completion of handover documentation where required.
  16. Represent the company at all times by your professionalism, problem-solving skills, and dedication to providing the best data centre on the market.
  17. Resolve network issues and configure operating systems.
Minimum Requirements:

  • At least two years of relevant industry experience.
  • Understanding of mission-critical facilities and their systems and infrastructure.
