Job summary

Scot Lewis Associates Ltd in London is seeking a Data Centre Consultant to join a small, rapidly growing consultancy/advisory firm specialising in the data centre industry. The role involves supporting advisory engagements from site selection through to design management, procurement, construction oversight, and commissioning strategy.

You will act as a trusted advisor to clients, navigating technical, commercial, and delivery decisions fundamental to digital infrastructure investments.

Qualifications

• Experience in data centre design, construction or project delivery.
• Strong understanding of critical systems design (MEP) and data centre delivery best practices.
• Degree-qualified in Engineering or related discipline; Chartered status a plus.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on design and program delivery of data centre developments.
• Lead or support engagements spanning technical due diligence, feasibility assessments, design oversight, procurement support, and construction strategy.
• Provide input across MEP systems, layouts, infrastructure resilience, phasing strategies, and buildability.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including design consultants, PMs, engineers, and client stakeholders.
• Develop high-quality deliverables including client reports, technical memos, design reviews, and risk assessments.
• Stay current on market trends, technology innovation, and industry standards.
• Represent the client in meetings, industry events, and project workshops.

We are working with a small and rapidly growing consultancy/advisory firm specialising in the data centre industry, working with investors, developers, operators and enterprise clients on high-impact international projects to secure for them a data centre consultant to join the London team.

About the role

As a Data Centre Consultant, you'll play a key role in supporting the delivery of advisory engagements across the full life cycle of data centre development - from early site selection and feasibility through to design management, supply chain procurement, construction oversight, and commissioning strategy.

You will act as a trusted advisor to our clients, helping them navigate technical, commercial, and delivery-related decisions that are fundamental to the success of their digital infrastructure investments.

What we are looking for

• Experience in data centre design, construction or project delivery, ideally in an operator, engineering or contractor environment.
• Proven understanding of critical systems design (mechanical, electrical, cooling, etc.) and data centre delivery best practices.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly.
  A proactive mindset with an ability to adapt, learn, and solve problems in dynamic environments.
• Comfortable working across multiple projects and collaborating with diverse teams.
• Degree-qualified in Engineering, or a related discipline (Chartered status a plus).
