Purpose of the Job

The successful candidate will deliver high calibre maintenance services within Building Clusters. Responding speedily to fault/breakdown requests and efficiently undertaking routine scheduled maintenance of plant and/or equipment being pre-requisite and of paramount importance.

Role Summary

  1. Carry out routine planned preventative maintenance tasks as required within across HV and LV distribution systems, associated plant / equipment and HVAC mechanical cooling / heating systems as determined by the CMMS system’s work orders.
  2. Monitor BMS for running and alarm conditions.
  3. Attend to A/C related clients’ problems.
  4. Building walk-rounds, taking meter readings from UPS, PDUs and utilities.
  5. Investigate faults, identify causes, and effect remedies.
  6. Prepare accurate / timely reports as required.
  7. Ensure corrective / repair works are carried out in accordance with current regulations.
  8. Assist when and where required with installation works.
  9. Participate in emergency call out roster providing cover for weekend and team member absences, as required.
  10. Develop a comprehensive understanding of the portfolio buildings, their layouts, functions and complexities.
  11. Establish and develop trusting, meaningful relationships with Facilities Managers, Client staff and representatives.
  12. Endorse day to day and future compliance to safe working practices, quality standards conformity and best practice methods.
  13. Volunteer ideas / initiatives that contribute to the service levels and delivery.
  14. Undertake other tasks, as required by Customer Services Supervisor / Contract Manager, in accordance with experience and competencies.
  15. 12-hour continental shift pattern.


Experience Required

  1. City & Guilds Electrical Competency Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent.
  2. Good building services knowledge.
  3. Critical Environment Experience.
  4. Good Customer relationship skills.
  5. Working knowledge of “Permit to work” systems.
  6. Understand and interpret technical drawings / processes.
  7. Experience of CMMS and BMS systems.
  8. Time served electrical apprenticeship.
  9. Experience of working in Data Centres.
  10. HV switching qualification/experience.
  11. 18th Edition IEE Regulations.
  12. Experience of Microsoft Office applications.
  13. ACoPs L8.
