Role Title: Data Center Technical Operations Engineer I

Location: London, UK

Job Description

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate across teams to deliver high standards for safety and security while providing extensive capacity at minimal cost for our customers.

This position serves as the on-site maintenance technician and operator for the data center.

The Data Centre Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) is responsible for operating and maintaining electrical, mechanical, emergency generator, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center. The EOT supports mission-critical servers and acts as a technical resource within its data centers.

Key job responsibilities

• Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs
• Perform limited maintenance tasks such as filter changes, HVAC PMs, rack power installs, rack PDU, and rack ATS replacements
• Support Data Centre Operations technicians
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
• Ensure all safety procedures are followed during work
• Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.)
• Use internal CMMS to manage workflows and spare part inventory
• Supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance
• Respond to emergency calls during on-call rotations for regional sites
• Comply with all physical security procedures and policies
