Role Title: Data Center Technical Operations Engineer I

Job Description

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across the organization to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing high capacity at low cost for our customers.

This engineering operations technician position serves as the on-site maintenance technician and operator for a data centre.

The Data Centre Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) is responsible for operating and maintaining all electrical, mechanical, emergency generator, and fire/life safety equipment within the data centre. The EOT supports mission-critical servers and equipment.

Key job responsibilities

• Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs
• Perform maintenance tasks such as filter changes, HVAC preventive maintenance, rack power, PDU, and ATS replacements
• Support Data Centre Operations technicians
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
• Follow all safety procedures during work
• Take daily operational readings of mechanical and electrical equipment (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.)
• Use internal CMMS to manage workflows and inventory
• Supervise contractors performing servicing or maintenance
• Respond to emergency calls during on-call shifts
• Follow all physical security procedures and policies
