Qualifications

Position Summary: This is a senior customer facing role.

The Solutions Engineer will provide professional engineering expertise in Digital Infrastructure for internal and external customers. Serving as the technical solutions designer, the SE will support the pre-sales team, delivering high value, complex engineering proposals to the BlackBox global customer base. Exhibits and demonstrates outstanding "technology Leadership" in Emerging Technologies. Acts as technical liaison for vendors, partners, Marketing Practices and Solution Engineering organisations.

Essential:

Experience

A verifiable record of 15+ years' experience in the digital infrastructure industry sector, with at least 5 years' involvement in the Data Centre Sector

Demonstrable experience in designing scalable, secure, and resilient digital infrastructure project solutions, ensuring secure and resilient network design and integration

Credible experience in operational delivery of complex telecommunications infrastructure projects

Qualifications

A minimum of two qualifications in project design and delivery disciplines at L5 on the qualifications criteria. Examples include:

Registered Communications Design Diploma (RCDD)

Certified Network Infrastructure Design Professional (CNIDP)

Certified Data Centre Design Professional (CDCDP)

Projects in Controlled Environments (PRINCE)

Project Management Professional (PMP)

Certified Data Centre Project Management (CDCPM)

Other formal qualifications will be considered

Desirable:

Subject Matter Expertise in at least two of the following sub-divisions of Digital Infrastructure:

Job Responsibilities:

Provides technical expertise for pre-sales opportunities, installation, and post-sales maintenance of Commercial Services products, ensuring the systems function.

Maintains competency in established area(s) of expertise through vendor and industry training. Liaison with manufacturers regarding product or applications upgrades.

Gathers, and updates data pertaining to tools, resources, products, and applications on a regular basis.

Proactively develops innovative solutions and programs to enhance business opportunities. Provides active technical mentoring for the Sales, Solutions Engineering, and Delivery teams.

Interface with senior-level customer contacts, identify customer needs, add technical expertise to customer proposals, handle objections appropriately, and deliver successful sales presentations adding value through industry knowledge and insight. Personally follows through on customer inquiries and requests. Demonstrates responsiveness. Able to present highly technical topics included advanced products/applications and business solutions to large groups.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

Able to create complex spreadsheets and workbooks structured to support complex projects. Can also design and decipher simple to intermediate calculation formulae.

Able to work independently as well as part of a team environment.

Able to think analytically.

Capable of establishing priorities and balancing multiple projects simultaneously.

Handles complex issues and problems.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Organized and detail-oriented.

Able to build collaborative relationships.

Proficient in computer software programs, such as Microsoft Office.

Proficient in the use of at least one CAD application

Physical Environment/Working Conditions:

Must have current driver's license and/or passport.

Ability to work overtime as necessary.

Short duration domestic and overseas travel will be a requirement of the role
