Job summary

Amazon Development Centre (London) Limited is seeking a Senior Physical Security Design Engineer to lead the design and specification of physical security elements for AWS data center projects. You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and colleagues across AWS to deliver secure, cost-efficient infrastructure.

You will mentor design teams, review consultant work, and travel up to 25% for site assessments and design reviews, ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal AWS

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in commissioning.
• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including data centres, power generation or oil and gas facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead designs (construction drawings and specifications) for physical security elements (cameras, access control, intrusion detection, fences, gates, etc.) for DC projects.
• Using Blue Beam and other drafting technologies to work in collaboration with design teams to produce designs in Revit (ACC)/CAD.
• Coordinate security requirements with other disciplines during the design process of a new building / campus.
• Review and direct the work of physical security engineering design consultants.
• Be the SME of all designs and approve design deliverables from 3rd party and in-house teams at each milestone.
• Collaborate with security organizations within AWS to develop design standards and evaluate cost, risk and benefits.

Education
