Data Center Operations Engineering Technician, DCEO

We are currently hiring Data Center Engineering Operations Technicians to work as technical resources in our mission-critical data centers in Katrineholm.

Data Center Engineering Operations Technician will help ensure the availability and reliability of data center operations, meeting or exceeding service levels. Due to the rapid expansion of AWS Data Centers, we are seeking individuals to operate and maintain these facilities, contributing to both facility maintenance and efficiency improvements that provide better value for our customers.

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS)

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate across AWS to help us deliver high standards for safety and security while providing extensive capacity at the lowest possible cost. Our inclusive culture welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

A valid driver’s license is required for this role. This position requires the ability to work a 24x7 shift rotation.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Assist in the operation and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety, and HVAC equipment within the data center, supporting mission-critical servers with uptime better than 99.999%.
  2. Support maintenance and monitoring of all data center systems, including incident management, events, problems, changes, and escalations.
  3. Troubleshoot and monitor mechanical, electrical, HVAC, voice/data, cooling, fire/life safety systems, and generators.
  4. Assist contractors or engineers in maintaining facility equipment, deploying new equipment (racks, cabling, etc.), and conducting site walkthroughs to verify equipment and system operations.
  5. Act as a First Responder to critical events and support both new and existing data center facilities.
A day in the life

Your activities include monitoring alarms and systems managing power, cooling, and fire suppression; coordinating vendor work; supporting other teams during events; handling rack installations; supporting equipment handover; sharing knowledge; and participating in event drills.
