Job summary

EntrustIT Group in Bedford is seeking an experienced Data Cabling Project Manager to lead a diverse portfolio of structured cabling and network infrastructure projects across sectors. You will plan, coordinate engineers and subcontractors, manage budgets, and deliver projects safely and on time.

The role is a management and coordination position, requiring strong technical knowledge and excellent client relationship skills. Travel to project sites will be required as needed.

Qualifications

• PM or coordination experience within data/structured cabling or network infra.
• Strong knowledge of Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, fibre optic and containment systems.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills; client management aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Managing structured and data cabling projects from start to finish.
• Plan projects involving Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, fibre optic and containment systems.
• Coordinate engineers, subcontractors, labour and materials.
• Monitor progress, budgets and milestones.
• Main point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
• Carry out site surveys, meetings and reviews of RAMS, Safety and QC.
• Review installation testing and certification; support pre/post-sales.
• Produce project, financial and performance reports.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and delivery.

Are you an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in structured cabling and network infrastructure?

entrustIT Group is looking for an ambitious and highly organised Data Cabling Project Manager to join our growing Projects Team in Bedford.

We deliver cutting-edge technology solutions across the Corporate, Hospitality, Retail, Transport and Education sectors. From structured cabling and fibre infrastructure to WiFi, CCTV and access control, we help organisations build the connected environments they need to succeed.

The Role

As Data Cabling Project Manager, you'll take ownership of projects from initial planning through to successful completion.

This is a management and coordination role rather than a hands-on installation position. You'll use your technical knowledge to plan projects, coordinate engineers and subcontractors, manage resources and budgets, and ensure every project is delivered safely, on time and to the highest possible standard.

You'll Be Responsible For:

• Managing structured and data cabling projects from start to finish
• Planning projects involving Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, fibre optic and containment systems
• Coordinating engineers, subcontractors, labour and materials
• Monitoring project progress, budgets and key milestones
• Acting as the main point of contact for clients and stakeholders
• Carrying out site surveys, site visits and progress meetings
• Reviewing RAMS and overseeing Health & Safety and Quality Control
• Reviewing installation testing and certification
• Supporting pre- and post-sales activities
• Producing project, financial and performance reports
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and project delivery

What We're Looking For

You’ll be an organised, commercially aware and solutions-focused Project Manager with a strong understanding of structured cabling.

Essential Experience & Skills:

• Project Management or Project Coordination experience within data cabling, structured cabling or network infrastructure
• Strong knowledge of Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, fibre optic and containment systems
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• The ability to lead and coordinate engineering teams and subcontractors
• Strong client relationship management skills
• Commercial awareness and experience managing project budgets
• Confidence using Microsoft Office and project management software
• A calm and professional approach when working under pressure
• Willingness to travel to project sites when required
• Full, clean UK Driving Licence
• Ability to successfully complete an Enhanced DBS check

PMP, PRINCE2, ECS/CSCS or SSSTS qualifications would be an advantage but are not essential.
