Job summary

NatWest Group is seeking a Data Business Analyst to shape how payments and statement data is structured and migrated across ISO 20022, SWIFT, and file-based channels. Join us as a Data Business Analyst

• You’ll play a critical role in shaping how the bank's payments and statement reporting data is structured, migrated and used, across ISO 20022, SWIFT and file-based channels
• You’ll be working in a vibrant, forward looking team, helping us to shape the future of our business

What you’ll do

In your new role, you'll be supporting the analysis of complex cross franchise and pan group requirements, while capturing, validating and documenting business and system requirements and making sure that they are in line with key strategic principles. In the course of your work, we'll also look to you to build, manage and maintain a positive working relationship with stakeholders and third party suppliers across multiple franchises and functions.

You’ll also:

• Profile, map and reconcile payments and statement data across legacy and target platforms
• Trace and link business requirements through to future state design, supporting data migration, implementation and cutover activities

• Use monitoring and analytics tools to investigate data flows, incidents and reporting issues, translating findings into business requirements and solutions
• Design and execute test scenarios, support user acceptance testing and help validate solution designs throughout delivery
• Support customer-facing channels such as Bankline Direct Digital by defining the data behind their statements and reports
• Help shape customer facing reporting and statement solutions while using AI powered tools to improved data analysis, and support continuous improvement

The skills you’ll need

You’ll need a highly analytical mindset, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.

You’ll also need:

• Working knowledge of ISO 20022 messaging standards, particularly camt and pacs messages, as well as SWIFT MT statement formats

• Experience applying business analysis tools, techniques and methodologies to deliver successful outcomes
• Experience using observability or monitoring tools such as Grafana, Datadog or Splunk, alongside cloud platforms such as AWS
• Experience delivering data or migration analysis within cloud-based environments

• Knowledge of AI tools used within the data analytics space

• Strong stakeholder management across engineering, operations and third parties
