Job Title: Data Business Analyst

Location: Leeds (Hybrid)

Rate: Market (outside IR35)

Length: 6 months (initial contract)

A leading financial services organisation requires a Data Business Analyst to support the development and implementation of a global data strategy. The role involves investigating complex As-Is data landscapes, defining To-Be requirements, and delivering actionable insights to drive strategic decision-making.

Data Business Analyst Responsibilities:

• Lead on the creation of user stories, technical requirements, and backlog prioritisation for data initiatives.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of business processes, data flows, and system interactions.
• Deliver high-quality documentation to articulate pain points and opportunities.
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops to align on data strategy and requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers and testers to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.

Data Business Analyst Requirements:

• 5+ years as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst in a data-focused environment.
• Strong expertise in agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and BA techniques (user stories, BPMN, UML).
• Experience analysing complex datasets and defining data infrastructure (e.g., data lakehouse, warehouse).
• Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and workshop facilitation skills.
• Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
