Job summary

Zurich Cover-More in Uxbridge, UK, is seeking a Business Analyst focused on data, reporting and governance to join our IT team. You will partner with stakeholders to understand analytics requirements and translate them into clear user stories and dashboards.

You will define KPIs, data definitions, and reporting logic, collaborate with BI developers and data engineers, and promote data governance while supporting improved customer journeys and operational performance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst in data, reporting, analytics or governance environments.
• Ability to translate business requirements into user stories, functional specs and acceptance criteria.
• Experience delivering reporting, dashboards or data-driven solutions for decision-making.
• Excellent stakeholder management across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong data management principles: quality, metadata, lineage and governance.
• Experience creating process maps, data flows, and data dictionaries.
• Hands-on with Excel, Power BI, Visio and data documentation platforms.
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and problem solving.
• Knowledge of data privacy and GDPR requirements.
• Experience with enterprise governance tools such as Informatica.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Partner with stakeholders across the business to understand reporting, analytics and data requirements.

• Collaborate with BI developers, data engineers and technology teams to deliver data and reporting solutions.
• Support the design and development of dashboards and reports by defining measures, calculations and business outcomes.
• Validate reporting outputs to ensure accuracy, quality and alignment to business requirements.
• Promote good data governance practices, including data ownership, quality standards and lineage documentation.
• Support product teams by identifying insights that improve customer journeys, operational performance and commercial outcomes.
• Drive adoption of new reporting tools and processes through stakeholder engagement, training and communication.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting, analytics, data quality and business analysis practices.

What skills and experience you’ll bring on this journey:

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within data, reporting, analytics, business intelligence or data governance environments.
• Strong ability to translate business requirements into user stories, functional specifications and acceptance criteria.
• Experience defining and delivering reporting, dashboard or data-driven solutions that support business decision-making.
• Excellent stakeholder management and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong understanding of data management principles, including data quality, metadata, lineage and governance frameworks.
• Experience creating process maps, data flows, data dictionaries and business documentation.
• Hands-on experience using tools such as Excel, Power BI, Visio and data documentation platforms.
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and the ability to structure and solve complex problems.
• Knowledge of data privacy, regulatory and compliance requirements, including GDPR.
• Experience working within regulated or complex business environments would be advantageous, as would exposure to enterprise governance tools such as Informatica and relevant BA or data certifications.

At Zurich Cover-More, compensation for roles is influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. We are committed to providing a fair and reasonable compensation range for each role and additional rewards may include short-term incentive bonuses and increases based on merit. The compensation shown reflects a national market range and the proposed salary for this position is £53,015 - £62,371 / €57,851 - €68,061 with short-term incentive bonus eligibility of 10%.
