Job description
Data & Automation Specialist
The Opportunity

This is a newly created role sitting between IT, Finance, and Operations - ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, streamlining processes, and using data tools to make work easier for others. You'll work closely with finance, revenue management, and operational teams to identify inefficiencies, design simple automation solutions, and deliver dashboards and workflows that save time and add value. This is a self-led, people-focused position - perfect for someone who loves understanding how a business operates and creating practical tech solutions that make an impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and deliver process improvements and automations across multiple departments.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI and Excel.
  • Develop and optimise Power Automate workflows to streamline repetitive tasks.
  • Collaborate with finance and revenue teams to automate daily reporting, data exports, and reconciliation tasks.
  • Integrate and transform data from diverse systems (EPOS, telephony, property management, accounting, etc.).
  • Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams, gathering requirements and turning them into actionable solutions.
  • Provide basic data analysis and business insight to support decision-making.
  • Research and propose new tools or platforms to enhance automation and reporting.
What They're Looking For
  • Proficiency in Power BI, Excel, and Power Automate (or similar automation tools).
  • Strong analytical mindset - comfortable working with data, formulas, and problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and manage multiple mini-projects.
  • Curious, self-motivated, and able to learn new tools quickly.
  • Ideally, experience working within hospitality, retail, or other fast-paced operational environments.
  • A people person - someone who can sit with busy teams, understand their challenges, and build practical solutions.

(A degree in a STEM field or experience with SQL would be a bonus but not essential.)

Why This Role?
  • First hire of its kind - complete ownership and autonomy in shaping how automation is delivered across the group.
  • Real business impact - your work will directly save teams hours every week and improve decision-making across the business.
  • Supportive environment - collaborative, fast-paced, and open to new ideas and tech investment.
  • Career growth - opportunity to progress into a wider Business Improvement or Data leadership position as the function grows.
