Job description

The Role

To facilitate the work of the wider Infection Prevention and Control Team, in the provision of administrative support. This will ensure IPC data administrative processes and systems are robust and all IPC data is recorded appropriately to agreed time-scales. This role is responsible for accurate data entry and the identification of quality control issues to the IPC Team.

The post holder will support the IPC Data Manager by inputting surveillance data, maintaining electronic records, and ensuring the integrity of information systems used to monitor infection trends and compliance.

What we'll need you to bring

  • Academic qualifications require a numerical and technical content eg. ECDL with further skills gained through a mixture of experience and internal training in a statistical environment.
  • Experience working in an information/ statistics environment.
  • Experience and knowledge of the application of NHS data definitions, information standards and policies is required and gained through internal training and ongoing support.
  • Good communication skills are required to ensure tactful delivery of instruction and guidance on data quality, procedures and standards and maintain and encourage data flows.
  • Planning and organising of own workload is required to manage timescale requirements of mandatory routine information provision.

Contract type

  • Fixed Term or Secondment until 31/03/2026
  • Part Time
  • 22.2 hours

Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.

Please note this is a fixed term post until 31/03/2026. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in Infection Prevention and Control within University Hospital Wishaw.

The working pattern for this role 0830-1630 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
