Data Architect - Government - London/Hybrid - 9 months - £600+ per day inside IR35

A central government organisation is recruiting an interim Data Architect/Database Analyst for a dual role: 50% DBA and 50% Data Architect. The role involves providing DBA support and Data Architecture expertise to support projects and define the organisation's data strategy, standards, and infrastructure.

The successful candidate will play a key role in designing the data strategy and will also provide DBA cover for the IT Infrastructure team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operational database administration and support within financial services operational environments.

Experience

1. Minimum of 10 years' relevant experience
2. Extensive experience in designing and implementing data architectural models, data models, and data dictionaries
3. Experience with cloud-based (particularly Microsoft) data management tools and services
4. Assessing and implementing data process improvements, and writing clear business & technical requirements
5. Excellent analytical skills with a structured, organised, and meticulous approach
6. Application of process automation, assessing benefits, costs, and risks
7. Contributing to the design of Power BI reports/dashboards and underlying semantic models, working with stakeholders to understand requirements and present data insights
8. Desirable: experience in investment banking operations and understanding of trade processing workflows related to Bond and Money Markets

The role requires SC level security clearance. Candidates must meet UK residence requirements for vetting (UK residence for 3 out of last 5 years). Preference will be given to candidates who are SC security cleared.
