This unit is driving major transformation initiatives with flagship enterprise clients, with a focus on intelligent data platforms, AI-driven analytics, and scalable cloud-native solutions.

Role Overview

This is a strategic and hands-on opportunity for an experienced Data Architect to lead the development of a robust, scalable data architecture on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You’ll be responsible for defining the platform strategy, leading a team of data engineers, and ensuring high standards of data quality, compliance, and performance across enterprise-grade data environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement enterprise-level data architecture strategies on GCP.
  • Gather client requirements and translate business challenges into scalable data solutions.
  • Act as a trusted expert on GCP data and AI solutions, both internally and with client stakeholders
  • Design and deliver scalable architectures across data lakes, pipelines, AI/ML models, and real-time analytics
  • Work in collaboration with Google Cloud teams, ensuring alignment to best practices and cutting-edge services
  • Build reusable assets, accelerators, and frameworks to drive project delivery and consistency
  • Lead a team of data engineers through implementation phases, ensuring alignment to architectural best practices.

Required Experience:

  • Proven experience working with Google Cloud (GCP) on major data or AI transformation projects
  • Proven track record in designing and maintaining large-scale data warehouses and data lakes.
  • Expertise in GCP data services including BigQuery, Composer, Dataform, DataProc, and Pub/Sub.
  • Strong programming experience with Python, PySpark, and SQL.
  • Hands-on experience with data modelling, ETL processes, and data quality frameworks.
  • Proficiency with BI/reporting tools such as Looker or PowerBI.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Experience:

  • Google Cloud Professional certifications.
  • Experience in alternative cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, or AWS.
  • Understanding of DevOps/DataOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools.
  • Academic background in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field.

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive salary of £80,000 - £130,000 + bonus and full benefits package
  • Flexible hybrid working from a central London base
  • Continuous professional development with access to leading certification programs (Google, AWS, Microsoft)
  • Dynamic, inclusive culture supported by internal networks and equity-focused initiatives
  • Involvement in innovative, high-impact projects for Fortune 100 clients

These are high-impact roles for technologists with strong visibility in the GCP data and AI community. If you are already working closely with Google or have a reputation within the ecosystem, we want to hear from you.
