Role: Interim Data Architect / Database Analyst

Hybrid Role: 3 days on site in London

Daily Rate: £650, INSIDE IR35

Security Clearance: SC Clearance

The interim Data Architect / Database Analyst will serve in a dual role, split 50% / 50%, to support a key government client in London by defining and implementing its data strategy.

Data Architect

You will have a strong background in delivering excellent data architecture and design solutions (including data process redesign), and a thorough understanding of Microsoft cloud-based data management tools.

Responsibilities include:

• Documenting business teams' future requirements for data management, analytics, and reporting
• Reviewing the design of the organisation's current Central Data Store and assessing its ability to meet future reporting requirements
• Assessing the feasibility and desirability of transitioning CDS to a cloud-based Enterprise Data Warehouse/Data Lake
• Designing a cohesive data model and data dictionary
• Collaborating with stakeholders to assess, plan, and implement effective data solutions that optimise technology use, reduce operational risk, and deliver stakeholder value
• Establishing the Data Architect role and implementing governance and controls to adhere to industry best practices

Candidates should be able to present examples of successful data architecture solutions, preferably in financial services.

Database Analyst

You will ideally have experience in operational database administration within financial services, providing DBA support for the IT infrastructure team.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing technical support across SQL Database environments
• Supporting DB issues from incidents or changes
• Supporting project teams to ensure smooth transition of databases into production

Required Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
• Extensive recent experience in designing data models and data dictionaries
• Strong experience with Microsoft cloud-based data management tools
• Experience in Power BI report/dashboard design and stakeholder engagement
• Experience in investment banking operational environments is desirable

Technical Requirements

• Expertise in data modeling techniques
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and tools
• Understanding of MDM
• Proficiency in T-SQL queries
• Knowledge of Azure SQL Database and Managed Instance
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, and Synapse Analytics
• Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server 2018, SSIS, Profiler, T-SQL
• Familiarity with data design/migration technologies
