Our client, a leading financial services corporation, is hiring a Data Architect to drive & design their data strategy as they transition from on-premises to Azure cloud services. They are seeking a Data Architect with experience in architecting & migrating from SQL Server (2009-2019) to cloud-based solutions on an enterprise scale within the financial services domain. The client offers a salary of approximately £83,000 plus a 15% bonus, based in Wolverhampton on a hybrid basis.

You will have experience designing and implementing large-scale data warehousing and data modeling projects as the client rebuilds their IT ecosystem to prioritize Data at the core of their operations—an unprecedented initiative for the client!

Core responsibilities:

1. Perform in-depth technical analysis of business requirements to inform technical solutions.
2. Design technical solutions for business problems, incorporating regular feedback and adjustments.
3. Document all data architecture designs, analysis work, and create/maintain data artifacts and design documents.
4. Support the implementation of a new cloud data platform to support company-wide initiatives.
5. Mentor and develop junior team members.

Core skills and experience:

• Proven experience as a Data Architect leading major data projects within a regulated environment, preferably financial services.
• Experience architecting a new data warehouse or data model for a large organization is essential.
• Technical skills in ETL, SSIS/SSAS, Erwin, and cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS are required.
• Experience designing and implementing target data architectures.
• Ability to establish data architecture design and governance processes.
• Mentoring junior data professionals.
• Experience developing and implementing enterprise data catalogs and models.
