We are seeking a Data Architect to join our Digital, Data & Technology Directorate. This role offers a chance to advance your career while supporting the NHS. Ideal candidates are problem solvers, relationship builders, and possess outstanding technical data architecture skills.

You will be part of the Data Strategy & Governance team within a newly developed data architecture function. Your responsibilities include analyzing data models, identifying gaps, and recommending improvements. You will help design, develop, and implement data principles and standards across NHSBSA. Enthusiasm, logical thinking, and a drive to succeed are essential.

Main duties:
  1. Review NHSBSA's critical data assets and catalog data items and sources
  2. Work with product teams to define data requirements based on data architecture standards
  3. Manage the repository of NHSBSA's data assets and define/manage data standards
  4. Develop data models and technical design documentation
  5. Research emerging technologies and best practices
  6. Design and maintain metadata repositories
  7. Collaborate with partners to ensure solutions meet architectural principles
  8. Provide SME input on data architecture standards and policies
  9. Evaluate external technical proposals and recommend implementations
  10. Explain data modeling concepts and produce relevant data models
  11. Contribute to proposals for change, including estimates and business cases

  3. Manage data asset repository and standards
  4. Implement data solutions in line with strategy
  5. Develop data models to meet needs
  6. Identify cost-effective solutions
  7. Research emerging technologies
  8. Create technical design documentation
  9. Design metadata repositories
  10. Manage data profiling and source analysis
  11. Recommend technology platforms for data linkage
  12. Develop project requirements and business cases
  13. Collaborate across functions to ensure solution adherence
  14. Provide SME input on standards and policies
  15. Evaluate external proposals
  16. Maintain and update data models
  17. Support talent development within the team
  18. Contribute to business planning and budgeting
