A leading physical commodities trading firm is looking for a Data Architect to join on a 6-month contract (Outside IR35). Based in London 4 days per week, you'll define and deliver scalable data architecture in a modern Azure Databricks environment.

• Duration: 6 months

Responsibilities:

• Define and enforce enterprise data architecture standards
• Create and maintain current/future-state data architecture
• Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models
• Implement metadata governance using Unity Catalog
• Define and support data access, security, and sharing policies
• Collaborate with stakeholders to capture data requirements
• Ensure architectural alignment with compliance and quality needs
• Guide adoption of Azure Databricks and Unity Catalog
• Oversee integration strategy and support pipeline development
• Proven background in data architecture and modelling
• Strong experience with Azure Databricks & Unity Catalog
• Delta Lake design and optimization expertise
• Familiar with metadata governance and data cataloging
• Comfortable with data security, access controls, and compliance
• Skilled in data modelling tools (e.g., Erwin, PowerDesigner)
