A bit about the job:

We’re looking for a Data Architect who specialises inInformation Architecture. You’ll design and govern how data is structured, understood and flows across Aviva.

You’ll help us manage metadata, master and reference data, and ensure our data assets speak a common language.

This role sits within our Architecture team and supports both operational and analytical data needs—making sure our data is not just stored but used wisely.

You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the business, helping them understand and use data effectively. And you’ll bring a pragmatic approach—knowing that perfect data isn’t always possible, but great design and governance can make a big difference.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Experience designing enterprise-wide information and data models, using organisational and industry standards and leveraging relevant tools and techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of data management disciplines at a strategicas well as operational capacity, including experience in metadata management, data governance, and master/reference data management.
  • Ability to articulate and illustrate abstract concepts in a clear, concise and relevant manner,whilst linking them to business benefits and actionable steps.
  • Familiarity with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Redshift, Glue), Snowflake, and PostgreSQL.
  • Understanding of data warehousing and modelling techniques like ER diagrams, Data Vault 2.0 and Kimball.

  • Salary: National Circa £65,000 and London Circa £85000 depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications).
