Job description

We are looking for a Data Architect to join the team to design, implement, and maintain a centralised, end-to-end data architecture solution and platform for Atlassian Williams Racing. You will set the vision for the data platform and use data design to ensure that the platform is managed properly and meets the strategic needs of the organisation, as directed by the Management Committee and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the design of multiple data models and the data platform, with a broad understanding of how the platform and models fulfil organisational needs.
• Support and align with the organisation’s data strategy.
• Champion data architecture internally and through collaboration at senior levels.
• Design and enhance ontologies to meet changing customer needs.
• Ensure data models at project and enterprise levels meet standards.
• Advise project teams and oversee the full data product lifecycle.
• Ensure system designs conform to enterprise data architecture.
• Design architecture solutions aligned with long-term business objectives.
• Develop data infrastructure supporting complex analytics services.
• Provide technical leadership to engineering teams.
• Build relationships with senior technical staff to align goals.
• Engage with clients or executives for architectural and requirements discussions.
• Create diagrams of key data entities and inventory data needs.
• Maintain data integrity and security.
• Categorise data models within the organisation.

Skills and experience required:

• Degree in an analytical subject or equivalent experience.
• Experience analysing and modelling data from complex applications.
• Proven ability to build end-to-end and hybrid data platforms aligned with strategic goals.
• Skilled in capturing, analysing, and documenting data with business users.
• Proficiency in data modelling concepts and practices.
• Strong communication skills with awareness of risks and uncertainties.
• Ability to implement risk mitigation mechanisms.
• Identify opportunities for data model reuse and alignment, especially in motorsport.
• Ability to communicate detailed information clearly to varied audiences.
• Strong problem-solving skills, balancing pragmatism and idealism.
