Job Title: Data ArchitectLocation: LondonAbout the Job you are considering:A highly experienced Data Architect with an AI-First mindset to lead the design and evolution of enterprise-scale data platforms, architectures, and transformation programmes. This role requires deep expertise across Data Architecture, Data Modelling, Data Migration, Data Integration, Data Governance, Cloud Data Platforms, AI Enablement, and Enterprise Transformation, with particular focus on the Microsoft Data & AI ecosystem (Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Synapse, Purview, Databricks, Power BI and AI servicesHybrid working:The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.Key Responsibilities and ExperiencesDemonstrated experience working with sensitive and regulated data, ensuring compliance with Data Privacy, Security, and Governance requirements.Proven experience in implementing AI-driven and data-led process optimisation initiatives, including automation and intelligent decision-making solutions.Experience working within organisations adopting a product-led discovery approach, introducing best practices, frameworks, and strategic options.Ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders across multiple levels of seniority, from operational teams to executive leadership.Strong understanding of technical constraints, dependencies, and architecture considerations when designing data and AI solutions.Hands-on expertise in data analysis, data profiling, and feasibility assessments to evaluate AI, automation, and Proof of Concept (POC) opportunities.Ability to identify and define data and information requirements required to support future business capabilities.Design and define target-state data models and future data architecture, using current-state analysis as supporting evidence.Utilize data analysis and insights to validate, challenge, and refine discovery hypotheses and business assumptions.Drive improvements in data quality, lineage, ownership, governance, readiness, and continuous assurance practices.Assess data readiness and define proportionate remediation strategies aligned with Data Privacy, Security, and Regulatory requirements.Evaluate and compare alternative data models, platforms, and enabling technologies to support business and solution requirements.Strong database design expertise across multiple data storage technologies, including relational, cloud-native, and NoSQL solutions.Collaborate with business and technology teams to establish data foundations for AI, analytics, automation, and digital transformation initiatives.Ensure data assets are managed in line with enterprise governance standards, supporting scalability, resilience, and long-term business value.Required SkillsStrong experience in conducting enterprise data landscape assessments and documenting complex data ecosystems.Expertise in creating and maintaining source system inventories, including identification of critical data sources, dependencies, and data ownership.Proficiency in developing data flow diagrams, process maps, and end-to-end data movement documentation.Experience designing current-state and target-state data architectures aligned to business and technology transformation initiatives.Hands-on experience performing data quality assessments, including profiling, completeness, accuracy, consistency, and remediation planning.Deep understanding of Data Governance frameworks, operating models, policies, standards, and control mechanisms.Ability to define and implement Data Ownership and Stewardship models across business and technology domains.Experience creating Information Lifecycle Maps, covering data creation, usage, retention, archival, and disposal.Strong knowledge of AI and Analytics Data Readiness Assessments, including data suitability, accessibility, quality, and governance considerations.Ability to identify, assess, and manage data-related risks, maintaining Data Risk Registers and mitigation plans.Experience mapping business capabilities to data assets through Capability-to-Data Models and traceability frameworks.Strong expertise in defining Future-State Data Architecture and data transformation roadmaps.Ability to validate business and technical assumptions using data analysis and evidence-based approaches.Experience establishing Data Readiness Assurance Models, including quality controls, governance checkpoints, and ongoing monitoring.Knowledge of assessing Third-Party Data Maturity, governance practices, integration readiness, and compliance standards.Ability to evaluate and compare Data Architecture Options, platforms, and technology enablers based on business and technical requirements.Experience creating comprehensive Current-State Data Inventories, data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and lineage documentation.We are a Disability Confident Employer :Capgemini is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer (Level 2) under the UK Government’s Disability Confident scheme.
