Job summary

Lorien is seeking a Strategic Data Architect for an on-site London-based role. You will define standards and patterns to ensure data is trusted, shareable and exploitable across a complex network of stakeholders.

This position supports a cloud migration with a data-centric, interoperable architecture and AI-focused evolution. You will be responsible for setting architecture across assets, embedding artefacts, and aligning with partners to enable data interoperability and quality.

Qualifications

• Strong background in data modelling, metadata management or data design.
• Demonstrable AI experience is essential.
• Ability to navigate a complex stakeholder landscape.
• DV clearance or ability to obtain DV clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Set strategic/conceptual data architecture across a broad estate of data assets.
• Develop, own and embed key architectural artefacts.
• Agree data standards and patterns with internal and external partners.
• Enable data interoperability and quality across delivery areas.
• Reshape data architecture during cloud migration to be more data-centric and interoperable.
• Build architecture that scales with fast-moving environments, including AI developments.
• Contribute to the wider data office's strategy.

Our client is investing heavily in their move to cloud, and needs a Strategic Data Architect to make sure the value of their data scales with it. You'll define the standards, patterns and strategic architecture that let data be shared, trusted and exploited across a genuinely complex stakeholder landscape.

What you'll be doing:

• Setting strategic/conceptual data architecture across a broad estate of data assets
• Developing, owning and embedding key architectural artefacts
• Agreeing data standards and patterns with internal and external partners
• Enabling data interoperability and quality across delivery areas
• Reshaping data architecture as part of a cloud migration — more data-centric, more interoperable
• Building architecture that flexes with a fast-moving environment, including AI developments
• Contributing to the wider data office's strategy

What you'll need:

• Strong background across data modelling, data standards, metadata management and/or data design (data lakes, warehouses, meshes, pipelines)
• Demonstrable AI experience — essential
• Comfort operating in a complex, congested space beyond a defined remit
• Strong stakeholder engagement and self-starting ability
• Active DV clearance or DV clearable
• Able to work 5 days a week on-site
