Role Overview

You will be responsible for shaping enterprise data architecture and driving cloud data strategy across complex transformation programmes. The position requires both hands‑on technical leadership and the ability to engage with senior stakeholders across business and technology functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own enterprise-wide data architecture frameworks and cloud data strategies
• Design and implement scalable Lakehouse architectures leveraging AWS and Databricks
• Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models
• Lead data modernisation initiatives, including migration from legacy platforms to cloud environments
• Establish best practices for data governance, security, lineage, and data quality
• Partner with business leaders, engineering teams, and executive stakeholders to align data solutions with strategic objectives
• Provide mentorship and technical leadership to data engineers and wider data teams

Required Domain Expertise

• Strong experience within the UK Insurance sector, particularly Specialty Insurance and Reinsurance
• Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks including FCA and PRA
• Familiarity with Solvency II reporting requirements
• Experience working with insurance data models and reporting structures
