How you’ll help us make health happen
The Data and Information Governance Manager will work closely with the Caldicott Guardian, Senior Information Risk Officer, Data Protection Officer, and Bupa UK Privacy and Data Teams to shape and deliver the IG agenda. You will ensure compliance with Information Governance, Security legislation, regulation, and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be the primary point of contact for all Information/Data Governance issues within the hospital and supported locations.
- Support the transformation of the Data and Analytics operating model and the implementation of our cloud-based data platform (Microsoft Azure and Snowflake).
- Manage compliance submissions such as the HSCIC Information Governance Toolkit and develop action plans for improvements.
- Develop and implement data governance strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and availability.
- Collaborate with teams to establish best practices, define standards, and drive data quality initiatives, including customer master data management.
- Provide guidance on information governance policies and procedures and support data protection impact assessments (DPIAs).
- Lead the Data Retention Policy development and ensure it aligns with organizational standards.
Key Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information management, or related field.
- Extensive experience in healthcare business environments.
- Deep knowledge of UK and EU Data Protection Laws, Directives, and Regulations.
- Experience with privacy impact assessments and risk management.
- Proven expertise in data governance, data management, and data quality roles.
- Experience managing Master Data Processes and data cleansing in complex systems.
- Knowledge of data modeling, integration, and quality management concepts.
- Familiarity with data governance tools, cataloguing tools, and industry frameworks like DAMA, DMBOK.
