Job description

What will I be doing?

We’re working to improve the lives of people in Somerset – and you’ll be a key part of that.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an organised and self-motivated person to join the Affordable Housing Team.

You will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and technical assistance to facilitate the delivery of affordable homes across Somerset.

You will be the data co-ordinator working closely with council colleagues, affordable housing delivery partners, and other key stakeholders to establish and maintain a range of affordable housing statistical records.

You will undertake administrative support to the Affordable Housing Service, including organising community events, supporting promotional work, and maintaining/updating information on internal and external websites.

This is a unique opportunity to make a difference and be instrumental in providing much-needed affordable housing across Somerset.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

We offer ongoing support, training, and guidance to help you succeed. Key skills and experiences include:

  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Good IT skills, especially with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in data management.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively.
  • 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/Level 4, including English Language and Maths (preferred).
