Are you passionate about the power of data and its potential to drive smarter decisions, deliver innovation, and transform business outcomes? At SBS, we’re on a mission to unlock the value of our data, and we’re looking for a forward-thinking, collaborative professional to help us do just that.

As our new Data and AI Governance Coordinator, you’ll play a central role in designing, implementing, and evolving our enterprise-wide Data and AI Governance Framework. It’s an exciting opportunity to make your mark and shape how we manage and trust our data—building confidence, ensuring compliance, and laying the groundwork for true data-driven decision-making.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Build relationships with key data stakeholders across the business to drive adoption and champion governance practices.
  • Help design and implement a pragmatic Data & AI Governance Framework rooted in DAMA principles and aligned with SBS’s strategic goals.
  • Support the definition of data ownership and stewardship, helping teams understand and manage their critical data.
  • Run governance forums and working groups, bringing together voices from across the organisation to shape our data culture.
  • Define policies, standards, and processes to help ensure consistency, compliance, and clarity regarding data and AI usage.
  • Monitor data risks, provide oversight, and contribute to robust data quality controls and issue management practices.
  • Support the development of data dictionaries, business metadata and lineage, making our data more transparent and accessible.
  • Drive a cultural shift toward becoming a Data-Informed and Centred Enterprise (DICE).
  • Stay ahead of regulations like GDPR and the evolving AI Act, ensuring our framework stays fit for purpose.

Qualifications

What are we looking for?

  • A natural relationship-builder with excellent communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
  • 3+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Data Quality, ideally in Financial Services or tech-driven environments.
  • Hands-on experience working with governance frameworks and embedding data culture within complex organisations.
  • A proactive, pragmatic mindset and an eye for continuous improvement.
  • Organised, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently while collaborating across teams.
