Our client, a global private equity and infrastructure investor, currently seeks a Valuations Manager to lead the London-based Valuations team.

The Senior Associate, Valuations Manager, will be responsible for producing fund valuations and maintaining data on the underlying private companies held in the company's portfolios. These are used in investment due diligence and ongoing investment monitoring. You will also manage the team and ensure the timely and accurate delivery of all team tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a growing team, work cross-functionally with stakeholders, and play a central role in transforming operational systems and controls.
• Manage the day-to-day workload of the Valuations team.
• Plan the responsibilities of the Valuations team throughout the year to meet overall objectives of the Operations department.
• Oversee and review the quarterly Valuation schedule and the input of subsequent valuations by the team.
• Review controls regularly to proactively mitigate operational risks, liaising with other teams for cross-team impacts.
• Ensure all underlying NAVs, taken from the GP capital account directly using NAV as a practical expedient, are captured accurately.
• Serve as a key escalation point for resolving technical valuation matters during normal activities.
• Present key updates to the firm's Global Valuation Committee and implement decisions.
• Coordinate the overall audit of valuations, ensuring smooth audit activities.
• Review and verify valuations input by Team Analysts to ensure data accuracy.
• Maintain data quality targets through oversight of integrity checks and statistical analyses.
• Guide the team through complex queries or valuations, providing expert oversight.
• Monitor and update the valuations operating model and control framework.
• Lead transformation initiatives for systems and processes.

Staff Management

• Manage objectives, motivation, and training needs, ensuring individual development aligned with company HR policies.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, as well as semi-annual and annual appraisals.

Essential Experience

• Strong technical skills, especially in Fund of Fund private markets valuation techniques.
• Ability to analyze technical processes independently.
• Collaborative working style.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
• Experience with process changes.
• Experience working with offshore teams.
• Proficiency in data manipulation and visualization tools (VBA, Python, PowerBI, etc.).
