Data Analytics Architect

Whitehall Resources are currently looking for a Data Analytics Architect on a Remote basis with rare travel to London for a 6 month contract.

Summary of role:

You will be responsible for designing and implementing the solution architecture to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives. This role involves analysing the current technology infrastructure, identifying areas for improvement, and developing plans to enhance efficiency, scalability, and security.

You will need to understand our technology strategy and collaborate with stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors, to develop comprehensive architectural solutions that support long-term vision. You will be required to maintain your core knowledge of wider technology trends and the technology ecosystem; build roadmaps and solutions; and govern relevant tech choices within the Firm.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Build and maintain extensive Azure Cloud and DevOps architecture and solution design skills, providing SME input to projects and/or run/build.
2. Build and maintain all-round competence in Cloud, and relevant Application, Integration, Data and Security technologies.
3. Maintain a high level of technical knowledge incl. current, emerging and future technology market trends and their impact on the business.
4. Develop and maintain expert knowledge of technology ecosystem.
5. Create and develop relevant documents – reference architecture, roadmaps and other key architecture artefacts.
6. Work closely with Cloud engineering teams across the firm.
7. Create and maintain a detailed view of existing designs to help manage the transition to future state.
8. Identify business/project risk and mitigate or communicate as necessary.
9. Carry out additional duties as may occur from time to time as instructed and agreed by leadership.
10. Develop relationships within the business and technology functions.
11. Ensure that product roadmaps are aligned to the Firm's Digital Strategy, and are coherent with those of other Capabilities and technology domain roadmaps.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Data analytics – refactoring and migration of data analytics solutions from on-premise infrastructure to cloud. Integrations with existing products. Skills in Azure (including Fabric) and Databricks required, understanding of low-code technologies (e.g. Alteryx) desirable.
2. Experience of re-platforming /with review of the current build of one of largest, business critical applications (currently built in PowerPlatform), and proposal of new solution design to rebuild/optimise the application. Experience in designing business critical application development required, including breadth of technology skills.

Areas of specialism for each role:

1. Specialism in Data & analytics - Data Analytics with hands on Azure Fabric.
2. Specialism in Data platforms - Data Platform – including experience of re-platforming (including platform build in ‘Power Platform’ exp).
3. Specialism in Low code - e.g. Alteryx.

Skills and experience:

1. 6 – 9 years of solution architecture experience.
2. Proven expert knowledge of Cloud architecture design relating to Azure.
3. Strong understanding of IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, Cloud hosting and integration technologies.
4. Strong understanding of Azure Active Directory.
5. Experience of cloud monitoring, provisioning, orchestration management, and DevSecOps.
6. Business focused, with the ability to communicate and convey messages to both technical and business stakeholders.
7. Good knowledge of at least 2-3 other domains in Infrastructure, Networking, Security, and Integration.
8. Good knowledge of EA governance incl. steps required, e.g., Info Sec approval, conceptual and solution architecture reviews, pen tests, code reviews and service acceptance criteria.
9. Strong experience in Enterprise and Solution Architecture roles.
10. A high level of general, technical knowledge incl. current, emerging and future technology market trends and their impact on business.
11. Good understanding of project management concepts, incl. Gantt charts/plans, risks, assumptions, and dependencies, etc.

Desirable Skills:

1. Knowledge of AWS and GCP.
2. Knowledge of Databricks.
3. Experience of M365.
4. Be a Cloud advocate to a wider audience inside and outside of the business.
