Job description

Data Analyst (SQL Python) London / WFH to £80k

Do you have a first class education combined with a strong interest in quantitative trading?

You could be joining a specialist Hedge Fund and working on long-term strategic projects involving implementing quantitative statistical models used to forecast energy demand and supply in US markets.

As a Data Analyst, you will research drivers of global gas prices and develop supply and demand models to support decision-making, partnering with experienced Quants and liaising with Portfolio Managers to deliver bespoke statistical models and methods. You will effectively communicate views and findings to traders, analysts, and other stakeholders.

You will contribute to team-wide fundamental analytics, maintain best practices in Python libraries and dashboards, and seek continual improvements in data sources and technical capabilities.

Location / WFH:

This role is based in London with a small team of software/data engineers and finance entrepreneurs. You will work full-time (Monday to Friday) with the option to work from home one day per week.

About you:

  • Excellent academic record (2.1 or above at BSc, likely MSc/PhD from top-tier university in fields like Mathematics, Probability, Statistical Patterns) with commercial experience
  • Strong Python and SQL skills
  • Experience working with large datasets
  • Experience implementing scalable, high-performance, low-latency solutions
  • Excellent communication skills
