EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Are you ready to contribute to environmental innovation? It’s an exciting time to join our team as we focus on pollution reduction using our wastewater sewer sensor network!

As a Sewer Sensor Optimisation Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data, overseeing contractor performance, and implementing continuous improvements in our maintenance contracts and installation programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure our sensor network operates efficiently and effectively, helping to reduce pollution risks and positively impact waste management processes.
  • Maintain sewer sensor loggers to provide accurate data, aiming for no more than 5% of the sensor network to be inoperative.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve performance, reduce pollution risk, minimize false alarms, and resolve sensor faults.
  • Serve as the technical expert for waste sensors, providing support and guidance.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Experience in translating complex data into insights and improvement opportunities (strong Excel skills essential).
  • Experience with Geospatial Systems (GIS) such as MapInfo and ARC GIS analyzers (desirable).
  • Experience managing contractor performance.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills, including with senior management.
  • Strong analytical skills to drive performance improvements.
  • An innovative mindset focused on continuous improvement.

Working here isn’t just a job. You can build a career at Severn Trent, and we’ll reward you for it. We offer a range of benefits that recognize great work and award-winning training to help you reach your potential. Plus, you’ll be contributing to environmental and community well-being.

Some of our key perks include:

  • 28 days holiday plus bank holidays (with options to buy or sell up to 5 days per year).
  • Leading pension scheme – we will double your contribution (up to 15% when you contribute 7.5%).
  • Sharesave scheme – buy Severn Trent Plc shares at a discounted rate.
  • Dedicated training and development through our ‘Academy’.
  • Electric vehicle scheme and retail offers.
  • Family-friendly policies.
  • Two volunteering days per year.
