Job summary

Job Title: Data Analyst (Power BI)

Location: Remote

Contract Length: 3 months (with potential extension)

Start Date: ASAP

Rate: £325 (Inside IR35)

Overview:

We are currently seeking an experienced Data Analyst to support a finance and accounting transformation project for a global organisation. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in Power BI, Python, and SQL, with experience or familiarity with Snowflake being a bonus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI to support decision-making across finance and business teams.
  • Perform complex data analysis and transformation using SQL and Python.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, data engineering, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into actionable insights.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and availability across different systems and reporting platforms.
  • Conduct data validation, quality checks, and performance tuning for reporting solutions.
  • Support ad-hoc data needs and deep-dive analytics requests.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst or similar role within a data-driven environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Power BI (DAX, Power Query, custom visuals).
  • Advanced SQL skills for querying and data manipulation.
  • Proficiency in Python for data wrangling, analysis, and automation.
  • Ability to work with large, complex datasets from various sources.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms.
  • Background in financial data or accounting systems.
  • Understanding of ETL processes and data warehousing principles.
