JOB TITLE: Data Analyst - Mass Affluent

LOCATION(S): Bristol, Edinburgh or Leeds

HOURS: Full-time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time at an office hub mentioned above.

ABOUT US

At Lloyds Banking Group we serve more than 26 million customers and 1 million businesses, and as one of five business units designed to deliver our growth strategy within Consumer Relationships, the Mass Affluent business helps drive us to develop longer-term relationships with a key segment of customers - those with over £75,000 in income or investable assets.

More than three million of our customers are part of the Mass Affluent segment, and working closely with our other consumer-facing business units, we aim to innovate our service by creating an integrated banking, investment and financial planning proposition - focused not only on everyday needs, but life goals and future plans.

CORE PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Launched in 2022 Mass Affluent's Data, Analytics and Insight team is located at the heart of the Mass Affluent Business, to provide expert and expedited data, analytics and insight. Our work helps drive and adds valuable input to the day-to-day management and the strategy of the Mass Affluent business, and inform key decisions. The team's work is both pro-active and re-active in nature, is both contained and equally often with stakeholders, and touches many areas of the Mass Affluent Business and the wider bank.

As a naturally inquisitive data analyst, your role will involve identifying and extracting (primarily internal) data, applying analytical methods and presenting the data in a customer-centric format, often in PowerBI which is an essential tool within the team. Your role will be foundational in building the reporting, analytics, data visualisation and insight that continually shapes and delivers our Mass Affluent strategy.

You will need to demonstrate a can-do attitude and a commitment to problem solving to deliver in in this exciting team, the success of which will also be largely down to our ability to enable and support others to succeed, and as a part of this close-knit multi-site team, communication skills and a positive attitude are essential.

Whilst no two days in this role will be the same, a typical day will involve collaboratively working with colleagues from within and outside of Mass Affluent to:

Perform accurate data mining and extraction from relevant data sources to augment existing and develop new insight solutions, from reports and dashboards to self-serve tools and deep-dives

Identify and accessing new data sources which enhance our insight capability

Actively participate in conversations and thought-partnership to support delivery of valuable, engaging, meaningful and relevant insights

Building PBi and other outputs to help convey analytics efficiently and clearly

Identify risks and opportunities to help draw conclusions and advise thinking

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

In-depth knowledge and experience of GDW (essential) and IP&I source systems (preferable)

Excellent coding/scripting experience including SQL (Teradata (essential) and MS-SQL (preferred)), Python etc

Knowledge of data visualisation tools such as Power BI and Tableau

An understanding and interest in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) / cloud technologies, and GenAI opportunities

Confident to work both as part of a close-knit team, and independently

Naturally inquisitive and questioning of approach and assumptions

Knowledge and experience of data science/analytical techniques

Ability to understand and interpret key insight to inform customer strategy, transferring numerical insight into compelling customer centric insight that can drive action and results

Positive relationship building and the ability to work with colleagues across the business
