The Business Analyst operates as a resource to multiple teams within the organization. The position will be responsible for providing insight and actionable data to all of Protective's operational functions. This position will primarily provide analysis through reporting, data usage, tuning of current tools, and adapting new tools. It will work across platforms to connect dots and tell a fuller story from both a customer and employee perspective. The ability to tell these stories in an easily consumable and actionable way is key to success. The individual must understand and assess the current state of business processes, technology, needs, and gaps.

The internal title for this position is Analyst II, Business Systems.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  1. Gather, review, and analyze business data, including KPIs and other key metrics, using data analytics tools.
  2. Communicate effectively and influence key stakeholders to support strategies, process improvements, and operational decisions.
  3. Provide performance feedback to leadership regarding metrics.
  4. Generate and deliver reports via PowerBI and SSRS, understanding their value and intended use.
  5. Assist with the integration and implementation of new technologies.
  6. Devise creative solutions to problems through resourcefulness.
  7. Use data modeling techniques to identify ways to improve organizational effectiveness.
  8. Work as a team player in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Work Experience, Education, Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Strong analytical skills, curiosity about data, and attention to detail required.
  • Ability to narrate trends and connect dots across departments.
  • Experience with SSMS preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (PowerBI or Tableau).
  • Experience in an Agile environment is a plus.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, required.

Protective's targeted salary range for this position is $62,000 to $85,000, with actual salaries varying based on location, skills, and experience. This range is part of the total compensation package.
