Octopus Legacy is seeking a Data Analyst to join our growing data team. You’ll help teams across the business make smarter, faster, more informed decisions by turning messy real-world data into actionable insights.

You’ll work with Growth, Product and Operations, build dashboards in Metabase, and define clear metrics to support decision making. The role is hands-on, autonomy-driven, and offers growth into advanced analytics.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in data analytics, startup or data-driven environment preferred.
• Proficiency in SQL and building dashboards with BI tools.
• Hands-on experience with dbt or similar pipelines and data modelling best practices.
• Able to turn messy data into clean, structured, useful insights.
• Comfortable working with non-technical stakeholders and translating needs into data solutions.
• Takes ownership, scopes projects with limited direction, and challenges assumptions.
• Curious, pragmatic, and eager to help shape a growing data function.

Responsibilities

• Act as a thought partner to teams across the business to define problems, questions, and metrics.
• Translate stakeholder needs into end-to-end data solutions: raw data to dbt models to dashboards.
• Define and document clear, consistent metrics to support cross-department decisions.
• Build intuitive dashboards that are accessible and actionable for non-technical users.
• Deliver ad-hoc and project-based analysis to evaluate growth, product, and operations initiatives.
• Collaborate with the data team to improve data models and pipelines.
• Operate with autonomy, scoping projects and pursuing clarity.
• Contribute to a culture of curiosity and rigour to enable advanced analytics over time.
