Job summary

A leading logistics organisation in the UK is seeking a temporary Data Analyst for a 6-week project. You'll be responsible for crunching large data sets, working closely with planners, and analyzing trends. The role requires strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience in data analysis, ideally within logistics. Initial onboarding will take place in Scotland, with all travel covered. Qualifications

Job description

Job Title: Data Analyst (Temporary – 6 Weeks)
Location: Remote (Initial Onboarding in Scotland – Travel & Accommodation Covered)
Rate: £15.00 – £18.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Start Date: Ideally Next Week
Interview Process: 1 x 20-minute video interview via MS Teams

A leading logistics organisation is looking for up to four Data Analysts to support their planning team during a high-demand period. This is a fantastic short-term opportunity for anyone with strong data skills looking to gain experience in a fast-paced, analytical environment.

The Role You’ll be working closely with a team of planners responsible for designing delivery routes used by major carriers. Each plan takes several days to complete, and due to increased workload, there is a backlog to work through between now and September.

As a Data Analyst, your focus will be on:

  • Crunching large data sets to support route planning

  • Working closely with planners to understand the planning process

  • Analysing trends and patterns to inform planning decisions

  • Handing over your insights to a separate team who will build the plans

  • Contributing to a potential review of the overall process for improvement

Key Skills & Experience
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills

  • Experience in data analysis, ideally within logistics or operations

  • Python or other coding experience is highly desirable

  • Backgrounds as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or Engineering Analyst are all considered relevant

  • Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail

Additional Information
  • This role is remote, but the first 3–4 days will require working on-site in Scotland for onboarding and shadowing – all travel and accommodation costs will be covered

  • Full-time hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm

  • Initial 6-week contract, with up to four hires being made
