Join to apply for the Data Analyst role at Hearst Networks EMEA

We are looking for a proactive and motivated Data Analyst to join our Insights & Analytics team. Reporting to the Director of Insights & Analytics, you’ll play a key role in supporting the end-to-end data lifecycle, from data collection and processing to analysis and visualization, helping to drive data-informed decisions across the organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with around 1–2 years of relevant experience who is eager to deepen their data expertise, contribute to impactful projects, and help strengthen our reporting, automation, and data storytelling capabilities.

The ideal candidate will bring a solid foundation in data analysis (e.g. SQL, Python/R), familiarity with data warehousing, and a keen eye for detail. An interest in TV, media, or entertainment is a strong advantage, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment.

This is a permanent position. This role will be hybrid based in the London office, working on exciting, award-winning brands like Sky HISTORY and Crime+Investigation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Gather, clean, and validate data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality, streamline data processes, and enhance reporting standards, contributing to best practices across the team.
  • Build, maintain, and continuously improve dashboards and reports, primarily using tools such as Power BI, with an emphasis on automating routine reporting and enabling self-serve analytics.
  • Support small to medium-scale data projects, helping to track milestones, coordinate tasks, and ensure timely delivery.
  • Respond to ad hoc analysis and reporting requests from stakeholders, delivering clear, actionable insights.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners to ensure data relevance, quality, and accessibility

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who can demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Analytical Thinking – Ability to approach problems methodically and draw meaningful conclusions from data.
  • Project Coordination – Capable of managing timelines, priorities, and deliverables across multiple tasks.
  • Clear Communication – Comfortable conveying complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Stakeholder Engagement – Builds trusted relationships and understands the needs of diverse teams.
  • Proactive Mindset – Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and a continuous improvement attitude.
  • 1–2 years of experience in a data analyst or related role.
  • Proficiency in SQL and one or more analytical/statistical programming languages (e.g., Python, R).
  • Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of data wrangling, cleansing, and manipulation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with large datasets and derive insights.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing and cloud platforms (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, AWS).
  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Highly organised, resourceful, and able to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working in the media, TV, or entertainment sector.
  • Understanding of business performance metrics, KPIs, and digital analytics.
